In May 2008 Congregation and Federation Leaders were invited to attend a meeting “to move forward the need and the desire for some coordination of our emerging global relationships and activities”. The first meeting of the Global Coordinating Group was held in Le Puy, France, in the fall of 2008, at which time the Vision Statement was crafted. The Global Coordinating Group is not a new governance structure, but rather a coordinating group as stated in the Vision Statement.
In the spirit of our Founder and Co-Foundresses, we leaders of the four Federations: Italian, United States, Canadian and French, and of the Congregations Lyon, Annecy, Chambery, and Argentina in response to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, wholeheartedly agree to accompany the unfolding and emerging global relationships as we coordinate new and diverse expressions of our CSSJ mission and charism.
Congregational Leaders of the four Federations and Leaders from the International Congregations of Lyon, Annecy and Chambery, and Argentina meet once a year. The Group works in three subcommittees, members of which are accountable to one another and responsible for ongoing communication among all Sisters and Associates around the world. The subcommittees address the following:
- The UN Ministry and the International Justice and Peace team.
- The International Centre and the Le Puy Archive project.
- Shared Formation Issues.
